As an academic site, the challenge of the project was to design comfortable, quality spaces that would encourage exchanges and stimulate work.

An innovative space that encourages interactions

The academic institution EBC proposed the location of the new Guadalajara Campus in the former Kodak Plant. The objective was to address the need for an innovative space where new schemes of interaction between classrooms, workshops, public spaces, and private spaces could offer the best quality of lighting, communication, and didactic-social stimulation throughout the development area.

To resolve this, we proposed connecting the four levels by perforating the slabs in their central axis, thus creating a space that seeks four solutions: visual intercommunication, spatial interrelation, public circulation, and a common area on all levels. The materialization of the staircases was consolidated in the interior and exterior access area of the ground floor, stimulating the notion of semi-public space both outside and inside the project.
